Clara Butcher
I am a passionate and innovative designer from Rootstown, Ohio. With a BFA in Visual Communication and a Minor in User Experience Design, I specialize in graphic design, user experience design, and illustration. I have worked with diverse clients, delivering seamless digital experiences that marry aesthetics with functionality.
While at Kent State, I worked a variety of jobs - design-related or otherwise. I worked at Kent State’s Burr Magazine as a designer and illustrator and expanded my knowledge of printed materials. I also had a chance to intern at Sanctuary Software, where I made user-centered app and website designs. I was also the treasurer of the UXD Club, where I taught other students about UX and hosted Figma workshops. These jobs have taught me about the real-world applications of UI/UX design and how to work in a team to create one large project.
I have always been a creative and artsy person. With a love of art and illustration, my art portfolio has won awards since high school. I received multiple scholarships based on my artistic talents. Outside of art, I take an interest in all subjects and have gotten on the President’s List and/or Dean’s List every semester of my college career. When not in school, I find fun in other crafty pursuits such as cosplay, sewing, and embroidery. I have crafted many cosplays and made my own clothes.
